Maintenance Manager

Job Description

Adept are working with a leading Heavy Engineering Manufacturing business who are undergoing a massive project and are looking for multiskilled engineers to join their team, learn their machinery and be involved with maintenance, installs, commissioning and more.


Monday to Friday- Day Shifts

Paying up to £60,000 for the right person

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidates will have both electrical and mechanical skills and will be doing the following:

  • Manage the installation and commissioning of bespoke complex Machinery

  • To efficiently fault find, repair, maintain and improve a variety of manufacturing equipment across site.

  • Work with senior engineers on site to assist with installations and commissioning of large, bespoke machinery

  • To carry out assigned or self-directed engineering tasks.

  • To be open to learning new skills, industry and bespoke heavy equipment that wont be anywhere else in the UK

Skills + Experience

  • Time Served within a similar role and environment

  • knowledgeable in managing projects, budgets and man management

  • Experienced in writing and implementing maintenance procedures

  • Ideally a knowledge of CNC machine tools

  • A good understanding and adherence of Health and Safety practices and regulations

  • Experience of working in heavy engineering environment

  • Knowledge and experience of installing and commissioning machinery from the ground up

  • Creating maintenance schedules and delegating tasks to team members

  • Conducting site inspections and identifying areas requiring extra maintenance work

  • Supervising maintenance workers and ensuring they follow safe work practices

  • Performing minor on-site repairs

  • Scheduling contractors for major repairs as required

  • Discussing maintenance concerns with the employer and communicating these to Maintenance Workers

  • Staying on-call and responding to emergency maintenance needs

  • Developing maintenance budgets, hiring maintenance crew and negotiating vendor contracts

  • Controlling and monitoring inventory

  • Coordinating work performed by outside vendors

Desirables

  • HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electronic/Electrical Engineering

  • Experience in a dual-skilled environment (electrical & mechanical)

  • Heavy Engineering background, working on very large machinery
