Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

Job Description

Adept Engineering are working with a well-established company, based in Sheffield, who produce high volume products into various industries including Oil and Gas and Aerospace, they are looking to add a mechanical fitter to their team to keep the plant running smoothly.

Working within a team of Engineers, you will be responsible for the general upkeep, servicing, and maintenance of a range of machines.

Working Hours:

Monday - Friday (6am - 2pm)

Job Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical equipment used in the Oil & Gas industry, ensuring precision and efficiency in all tasks.

  • Repair and refurbish machinery, components, and tools, adhering to safety guidelines and industry standards.

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify any potential issues or faults, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance.

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications to carry out accurate assembly and fitting operations.

  • Perform testing and quality checks on finished products, verifying their compliance with quality standards.

  • Utilize a range of hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment to complete tasks efficiently.

  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, highlighting completed tasks, ongoing projects, and materials used.

Skills + Experience

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within the Oil & Gas industry or a related field.

  • Sound knowledge of mechanical principles, assembly techniques, and industry-specific tools and equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.

  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Understanding of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to health and safety regulations.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of troubleshooting and resolving technical issues efficiently.
