Mechanical Maintenance Fitter
Job Description
Adept Engineering are working with a well-established company, based in Sheffield, who produce high volume products into various industries including Oil and Gas and Aerospace, they are looking to add a mechanical fitter to their team to keep the plant running smoothly.
Working within a team of Engineers, you will be responsible for the general upkeep, servicing, and maintenance of a range of machines.
Working Hours:
Monday - Friday (6am - 2pm)
Job Responsibilities
Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical equipment used in the Oil & Gas industry, ensuring precision and efficiency in all tasks.
Repair and refurbish machinery, components, and tools, adhering to safety guidelines and industry standards.
Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify any potential issues or faults, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance.
Collaborate with the engineering team to interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications to carry out accurate assembly and fitting operations.
Perform testing and quality checks on finished products, verifying their compliance with quality standards.
Utilize a range of hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment to complete tasks efficiently.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, highlighting completed tasks, ongoing projects, and materials used.
Skills + Experience
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within the Oil & Gas industry or a related field.
Sound knowledge of mechanical principles, assembly techniques, and industry-specific tools and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Understanding of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to health and safety regulations.
Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of troubleshooting and resolving technical issues efficiently.
