Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Job Description
Adept Engineering is excited to be working with a large fast-growing industrial manufacturing business that works with some of the world’s largest companies. They are looking for Design Engineers to join their growing team and be responsible for meeting customer specifications on bespoke projects, equipment, and machinery. Supporting during the design, Manufacturing, and installation stages both at the factory and on-site.
This role is ideal for someone who is wanting to be part of a challenging industry, and really push themselves forward in their career. The company is paying between £70,000 - £100,000 PA for the right candidate.
Job Responsibilities
Working as part of a design team delivering design from feasibility to completion and handover
Liaising closely with other professionals, including, clients, mechanical engineers, contractors of in-house and external project teams.
Attending a range of project group and technical meetings.
Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements.
Fully conversant in the use of Auto-Cad.
Preparing Electrical calculations, design, and equipment specifications.
Design of control panels for generators and auxiliaries, and integration with the client’s control system Detailed design of LV electrical solutions and specification of HV works Design of earthing and protection systems for power generating equipment.
Designing site-specific equipment as required.
Technical reviews of contractors’ proposals and on-site Inspections of the installation of building systems and maintenance and operating procedures.
Preparation of drawings for plant general arrangements, including power single line diagrams, P&IDs, and cable, instrument and I/O schedules at detailed design level.
Production of documentation, including control philosophies, telemetry configurations, tender scopes and documentation (including particular electrical and ICA specifications).
Deliver electrical engineering design, including managing design quality control processes and checking and reviewing the work of others.
Skills + Experience
Experience in design of electrical/control systems for industrial and commercial customers.
Knowledge of legislation, standards, safe working practices, and environmental best practice.
Desired Support the management of all HSE, technical and compliance risks associated with electrical systems.
Hold a full valid driving license.
City & Guilds- 18th Edition wiring regulations for electrical installations is preferred.
BEng / BSC in Electrical Engineering (or similar engineering field) is advantageous.
Experience and knowledge of power generation in various industries in preferred.
Hold a broad knowledge in LV distribution systems, motor control centres / control panels, electrical installation.
Sufficient in Microsoft Office programs.
Hold a continuous improvement mentality.
